As we reach the conclusion of 2021 and look forward to the start of a new year, we would like to take a moment to share a broad update on pricing which will take effect in early January.
As the pandemic persisted through 2021, all sectors of industry have seen historic increases in costs for raw materials, labor, transportation and energy - essentially all manufacturing inputs. Our industry has felt this in a significant way and our vendors passed through multiple price increases over the course of this past year.
As the calendar flips to January, we have long been accustomed to price revisions from our vendors. In January 2022, those increases are more substantial and more immediate than they have been in years past. On Monday, January 10th, we will increase price in response. These increases will vary by brand, ranging from 5% on the low end to 15% on the higher end.
While we certainly do not know if this ends the cycle of price inflation we have been experiencing, we hope with this latest increase, the worst is behind us. But, if we have learned nothing else in the last 24 months, it is difficult to predict the future.
